Alabama football commit reportedly flips to Big Ten program

According toRivals' Hayes Fawcett,Alabama Crimson Tidefootball commit Colt Lumpris has reportedly flipped his commitment to the Michigan Wolverines.

Lumpris, a tight end in the 2027 class, had previously been committed to the Crimson Tide since Dec. 2025.

Per the247Sports Composite rankings, Lumpris is currently considered as the nation's No. 289 overall prospect in the class, as well as the No. 16 tight end nationally. Rated as a four-star recruit, Lumpris is considered as the No. 6 player in the state of New Jersey as well, attending The Lawrenceville School.

Following the flip of Lumpris,Alabama's 2027 class now holds six total commitments, three of which come on the offensive side of the ball. The Crimson Tide still own a commitment from a tight end,three-starOakley Keegan out of Liverpool High School in New York.
